Faith, Governance & Public Policy: What is the Role of Faith Based Actors?

A workshop jointly organized by the Von Hügel Institute (VHI) with BISA support obtained by the working group on Religion Security and IR.

This workshop intends to facilitate a frank conversation and an exchange of experiences and information between academics of all levels of seniority and practitioners (e.g. policy makers, civil society actors, and 'faith representatives') around concrete questions on the relevance of religion in contemporary affairs such as:

- What place is there in public policy for engaging with religious values, identities, and/ or faith-based actors?

- In what ways, if at all, can religion offer something valuable for addressing key challenges in global governance?

Ms Louise Zanre (Director Jesuit Refugee Service)
Workshop coordinator: Dr Sara Silvestri (City University London & VHI)

Attendance is free but registration is required. Participants with different backgrounds/ specialisms are welcome; to register they will need to state in a few lines what their position is, how this event fits in into their work or research, and whether or not they are BISA members.

Priority will be given to BISA members and PhD students for whom a small number of travel bursaries are available but there may be funding also for other PhDs.
