'The economics of medical research'

Speaker: Jon Sussex, Chief Economist at RAND Europe and Co-director of the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research, University of Cambridge

In this seminar Jon Sussex will describe the findings of a just-completed, MRC-funded study by King's College London, RAND Europe and the Office of Health Economics, which provides for the first time an estimate of how much industry R&D in the UK is stimulated by publicly funded medical research in the UK.
