Until his death in 2019, Dr Aaron Rapport had been a lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Studies at Cambridge since 2013. His research interests included international security, political psychology, and U.S. foreign policy. He taught undergraduate and graduate level courses on these topics, as well as qualitative research methodology.

Prior to receiving his PhD in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, he held pre-doctoral fellowships at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University and the Miller Center at the University of Virginia. His book, Waging War, Planning Peace: U.S. Noncombat Operations and Major Wars, was published in 2015 in Cornell University Press’s Security Affairs series. His work has appeared in the journals International Security, International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Peace Research, and Security Studies.

Dr Rapport was also a Fellow at Corpus Christi College, where he directed studies for students in Part I of the HSPS tripos. He was previously an assistant professor of political science at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
