Prfessor Adam Joinson has been Professor of Information Systems at the University of Bath since January 2016. Professor Joinson obtained his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Goldsmiths College, University of London, before moving to the University of Hertfordshire to undertake a PhD in social psychology (on self-esteem and motivation). After completing his PhD he became a lecturer in social psychology at the University of Glamorgan. He then went to the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University before joining the University of Bath, School of Management in June 2007, first as a senior lecturer, then as a Reader in ‘Information Systems’. In September 2012 he was appointed Professor of Behavioural Change at UWE Bristol.

His main research interest include: Privacy, Trust and Security issues and the Internet; Social media, interaction and design; and Behavioural modification and technology.
