PhD Candidate, School of Earth and Ocean Science and Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Southampton

Anthony is researching imaging-based sensor technologies for biological oceanography as part of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Next-Generation Unmanned Systems Science at the National Oceanography Centre and University of Southampton. His work focusses on novel acoustofluidic particle manipulation techniques and machine learning for automated microscopy of marine and freshwater phytoplankton, and he is developing open-source, low-cost sensor packages to enable wider adoption of imaging flow cytometry within the oceanographic community.

Anthony holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of York (2018) and served as a research assistant before moving to Southampton.

Beyond his studies Anthony is learning Japanese, enjoys photography and can often be found hiking with his dog, Toby.
