Dr Christos Pitelis has consulted extensively for international organisations (UN, USAID, EC), national governments (including Brazil, Lithuania and Taiwan), The Commonwealth Secretariat, non-governmental organisations, Business Innovation Centres, Business Associations, Trade Unions and private companies. He also participated in high-level fora with leaders of companies such as WPP, Diageo and Access Industries.

Dr Pitelis has taught at the Universities of Warwick, Nottingham and St Andrews, and has been a visiting professor in various universities across the world. He has been advisor to the Greek Minister of Industry and the Ministry of Development, coordinating "The Future of Greek Industry" project, which led to the "Consensus-based Industrial Strategy" for the country and its cluster policy. He also served, among others, as an international consultant for the EC Netwin project on European clusters.

He is the Editor of the Collected Papers of Edith Penrose, is on the editorial board of Organization Studies, and has served as a Guest Editor for Organization Studies on the theory of the firm, Contributions to Political Economy, Corporate Governance, International Business Review, and Management International Review on globalisation, international business and regulation.
