Dr Conor Farrington is Head of Communications for SATAVIA, a Cambridge-based data analytics company focused on mitigating the climate impact of aviation. Prior to joining SATAVIA, Conor spent more than ten years researching and writing on technology as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, while also lecturing on British and American Politics at Cambridge’s Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS). His writing has been featured in publications ranging from The Guardian to The Times Literary Supplement, in addition to academic journals such as Science, The Lancet, and The Political Quarterly.

Conor holds a PhD in politics from the University of Cambridge and Masters degrees in politics and philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. Alongside his Hughes Hall Associateship, he is a Senior Member of King’s College, a Life Member of Jesus College, and an Old Member of Pembroke College.

The causes, demography and geography of ill health will shift significantly whilst the trend of demand for healthcare growing more rapidly than GNI is likely to continue. This lecture by Professor Chris Whitty discussed how it can predict, and help respond to, the policy challenges that will follow over the next 2 decades.
