Director of Business Development, Anglia Ruskin University

Dr David Arkell is the Director of Business Development at the Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Anglia Ruskin University and was the CEO of SmartLIFE Low Carbon Centre. The Centre is a joint venture between Cambridgeshire County Council and Cambridge Regional College that supports businesses looking to adapt to a low carbon economy. It opened in October 2011 as the first phase of The Hive education and enterprise park.

SmartLIFE Low Carbon teaches the workforce skills needed for building low carbon homes and installing renewable energy solutions. It will deliver new jobs and reduce the impact of CO2 locally. Training in traditional skills will be enhanced to incorporate modules in low carbon technologies to help re-skill our local workforce.

David has a PhD in corporate strategy, specializing in reflective practice into emotions in organizations. He is an external tutor and examiner for the engineering and architecture departments at the University of Cambridge.
