Eric Kaufmann is Professor of Politics at Birkbeck University of London. His research interests cover national identity, religious fundamentalism, and dominant-group ethnic identity. In 2015 he completed a research project on white working-class responses to diversity in the UK, which was funded by the ESRC and affiliated with the think tank Demos. While at Demos he published a report entitled Changing Places: the white British response to ethnic change.

Eric has published numerous books including Shall the Religious Inherit the Earth (Profile 2010), and The Orange Order (Oxford 2007). He has written articles for media outlets including The New Statesman and Prospect, and is editor of the journal Nations and Nationalism. He has appeared in interviews with multiple media outlets, and has presented his work at a variety of events and conferences, including to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Integration. His next book is provisionally entitled Whiteshift: Immigration, Populism and the Myth of Majority Decline (Penguin).
