Eva Maguire is a Social Research at the Department for Communities and Local Government. She was previously a PhD student in the Centre for Diet and Activity Research at the University of Cambridge. She has a BA (Hons) in Politics and Philosophy and an MSc in Social and Spatial Inequalities from the University of Sheffield, and an MPhil in Public Health from the University of Cambridge.

Eva became interested in quantitative methods in social research during her undergraduate course, pursuing this avenue in 2009 with the MSc in social geography. Work throughout the MSc focused on patterns of social inequality relating to healthy diet, physical access to food, and spatial patterns of consumption and health-related behaviours in the UK. Eva completed the MPhil in Public Health in 2012 as part of a 1+3 studentship with CEDAR, submitting a thesis on socioeconomic differences in diet at the population level.
