Kieran McLaughlin is currently a lecturer in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Queen’s University of Belfast. He obtained a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2003 from Queen’s University of Belfast, and was awarded a PhD in 2006 for his work investigating high-throughput lookup architectures for network processing.
His research interests include: Critical Infrastructure cyber-security, Smart Grid cyber-security technologies , customised stateful SCADA firewalls and protocol analysis, intrusion detection systems for industrial control system networks, network cyber-security technologies, and high-throughput network processing technologies.
