Matthew Moss is the Director of External Relations and Development at Homerton College, Cambridge. He heads the Development Office, which promotes understanding, participation and support for Homerton College. The office links the College with its alumni and with the members of Homerton's Retired Senior Members Association, and raises funds to support the College. Matthew also oversees Homerton's external reputation and profile.

From 2004 to 2014 he was Private Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge (firstly for Dame Alison Richard 2004-10, and then Sir Leszek Borysiewicz), and also acted as Strategic Communications Adviser. Matthew co-ordinated speechwriting for the Vice-Chancellor and was the principal link between the University and the Chancellor. He also advised the Vice-Chancellor on processes and policy, and co-ordinated the Development Office, the Office of External Affairs and Communications, and the International Strategy Office to support the Vice-Chancellor’s priorities.

Matthew was made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) in 2012, when Prince Philip stood down as Chancellor of the University.
