CSaP Policy Intern (September - December 2018)

Mejd joined CSaP in September 2018 for a three-month policy internship funded by the Scholarships Office of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs – UAE.

Mejd is in the final year of her PhD, studying Perovskite Photovoltaics in the Optoelectronics group of the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Professor Sir Richard Friend. Perovskites are currently regarded as one of the most promising materials for the development of cheap, environmentally friendly and efficient solar cells. Her research focuses on using X-ray crystallography to investigate the correlation between the structural and photovoltaic properties of perovskite solar cells in efforts to further improve their efficiency and stability.
