Surveillance Coordinator, Assistance Coordination Unit, Turkey

For the past six years Naser Almhawish has been working at the Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU), an organisation focused on maximising the impact of assistance delivered to the Syrian people by coordinating the efforts of donors, implementing agenices and community representatives. In his role as Surveillance Coordinator, he works in health emergency response, including polio outbreak response and AFP-surveillance in Turkey. He also collaborates closely with the WHO on Early Warning, Alert and Response Networks (EWARN) and has developed good understanding of the global standards and organizational procedures and practices in relation to the polio outbreak preparedness and response. Previously, he completed medical training at Aleppo University and Ar-raqqa National Hospital.
