Richard Traherne is an entrepreneurial business leader, focussed on the high technology sector and experienced in converting technical talent and innovation into true business value, internationally and within a broad range of market sectors. Based on a career centred in wireless communications, he now leads the Wireless Division of Cambridge Consultants, with a team which is now one of the largest independent wireless development teams in the world, and has become a serial developer of breakthrough products and technology. Previously he worked for Tality, Cadence Design Systems, Symbionics and Marconi Instruments, after graduating with a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Brunel in 1992.

Created by three Cambridge graduates in 1960, Cambridge Consultants develops breakthrough products, creates and licenses intellectual property, and provides business consultancy in technology critical issues for clients worldwide. It has team of over 300 engineers, designers, scientists and consultants, in offices in Cambridge (UK) and Boston (USA), and works across a diverse range of industries including medical technology, industrial and consumer products, transport, energy, cleantech and wireless communications. Its clients include those launching first-to-market products, entering new markets or expanding existing markets through the introduction of new technologies.
