Research Associate, Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge
Dr Sarah Morgan is a theoretical physicist, with a strong interest in complex networks, particularly applied to biological systems. She is currently a Research Associate in the Cambridge Brain Mapping Unit, working with Professor Ed Bullmore on graph theory analysis of brain networks from both structural and functional MRI images.
Sarah's PhD focussed on open quantum dynamics and building atomistic descriptions of complex, optically active materials (both biological and organic). She was supervised by Dr Alex Chin, in the Cambridge Theory of Condensed Matter group (TCM) at the Cavendish Laboratory. During her PhD, Sarah undertook a secondment to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, working on the UK's Quantum Technology Strategy. I was also heavily involved with Cambridge University Science and Policy Exchange (CUSPE) which aims to build closer links between policy makers and early career researchers.
