Assistant Director, Climate Change and Energy Services at Cambridgeshire County Council

Sheryl leads the Council’s work on Climate change and is responsible for the implementation of its Climate Change and Environment Strategy, targets and action plan. Her team works on climate policy, carbon footprints, utility procurement and the delivery of a wide variety of projects from low carbon heating in buildings, to retrofits in schools, EV charging, smart energy grids and delivery of large projects such as solar farms and heat networks. The renewable energy programme is approximately £70million with further projects in the pipeline to decarbonise the Council’s footprint and to support the wider decarbonisation of the County. Sheryl’s experience also covers wider sustainability including neighbourhood regeneration, green infrastructure planning, flood risk management through to transforming services affected by budget cuts.

    The Centre for Science and Policy is hosting a lecture at Trinity College which will be delivered by Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore on “Adolescent brain development: what we know and what it means for policy.”  The workshop will take place on Thursday 29 June at 5pm

    Fostering multi-level governance in the climate change regime

    CSaP is working with the University of Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance to organise a Policy Workshop which will bring together academic experts with policy makers who are implementing the Paris commitments at local levels.
