Cambridge welcomes new Vice-Chancellor

"With its breadth and depth of expertise, with its history of truly disruptive discovery, Cambridge must take a global lead as the place where barriers between areas of knowledge are broken down, the place where global collaborations are seeded and nurtured.”

On Monday 2 October the University of Cambridge welcomed it's new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen Toope. In his inaugural speech Professor Toope highlighted Cambridge's history as a centre of education for leaders across multiple discplines, and looked to the future and the University's place in an increasingly complex world.

Professor Toope is an alumnus of the University of Cambridge, having completed his PhD at Trinity College. He has a background in international law including human rights, and international development. He was previously the Director of the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs, and has been President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia.
