New Policy Fellows for Michaelmas Term 2015

2014/15 has been another full-on year for the Policy Fellowships Programme, with the full complement of 36 new Fellows taking part in over 1300 meetings with 500 academics and other experts. Since it began five years ago, the programme has now connected 200 Fellows with more than 1000 academics, making 5500 new 1:1 links between research and policy.

Following a further competitive election process, the Centre has announced the names of the successful applicants to the Fellowship for Michaelmas Term 2015. The newly elected Fellows, who will make their first visits to Cambridge between September and November, are:

  • Alice Bunn – Director of Policy, UK Space Agency
  • Rupert Cryer – Assistant Director, Cabinet Office
  • Neil Darwin – Chief Exec, Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP (Local Govt Fellow)
  • Stephanie Eaton – Head of Research and Innovation in Social Justice, Amey
  • Florent Frederix – EC DG Connect, Trust and Security Unit
  • Gabriel Huntley – Policy Adviser to Chuka Umunna MP
  • John Ireland – Deputy Director, Climate Change & Low Carbon Economy, Scottish Govt
  • Jose Jiminez-Mingo – Principal Administrator, EC DG Research
  • Katy King – Advisor, Behavioural Insights Team (Junior PF)
  • Vicky Robb – Senior Strategy and Policy Adviser, HM Treasury
  • Simon Sharpe – Head of Climate Risk Team, Foreign & Commonwealth Office
  • Tom Tolfree – Senior Economic Advisor, Department of Communities and Local Government

Invitations to researchers to meet the Fellows on their visits to Cambridge will be made over the coming weeks. The Centre would like to thank the members of the election panel for their contributions to reviewing the candidates' applications.
