CSaP welcomes new policy interns

We are delighted to welcome four new policy interns to our team this term. Sponosred by the NERC, BBSRC and ESRC, they will join us for three months to work on policy-related activities.

Nick Jones has joined us from the Centre for Diet and Activity Research (CEDAR), University of Cambridge. His PhD project is sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council and focusses on dietary public health. At the Centre for Science and Policy, Nick is in the process of organising a workshop to discuss the benefits of child play in children, and has taken part in a number of meetings with Policy Fellows.

Natalie Miazga joins us from the University of Manchester where she is funded by the BBSRC to research the effects of exogenous E-cadherin inhibition in cancer. Natalie is focussing on organising an upcoming workshop on genomic medicine and intellectual property issues. She has also attended a number of meetings with Policy Fellows including a discussion on recent developments in social investment.

Sarah Connors is a NERC-funded PhD student from the University of Cambridge where she investigates an alternative methane emission inventory for the East Anglia area. Sarah has already reported on our recent seminar series on Climate and Sustainability in Multiple Dimensions

Leanne Melbourne will be joining us next week from the University of Bristol. Leanne's PhD project investigates the Future of UK Shelf Ecosystems. During her internship Leanne will work with the Partnership for Conflict, Crime and Security Research to help develop networks around three central themes: conflict, cybersecurity and transnational organised crime.
