Exploring and developing concepts of Responsible Innovation

Share

The aim of the Science and Technology Studies (STS) reading and discussion group is to explore and develop concepts of “Responsible Innovation” (RI) in the light of different concepts of “Policy Change” and to apply them to ongoing debates on emerging technologies and their governance.

The reading group provides a platform for interested scholars to jointly develop a knowledge base on RI and the many different ways in which it is used in research, public policy and practice. The objective of the STS workshop is threefold:

  1. to assess the state-of-the-art on RI research and different concepts of “Policy Change” across and between scientific disciplines, research programmes, projects and networks;
  2. to collectively develop a common notion of RI, including its descriptive, analytical and normative dimension and its usability in different policy contexts; and
  3. to identify relevant research gaps and needs with regard to the theoretical, empirical, methodological and practical dimension of RI.

The group meets twice a month on Wednesdays 12:30-14:00 at CSaP's office (10 Trumpington Street).
