Well-being and behaviour
Individual choices and attitudes have population-scale impacts. From energy efficiency to public health, the aggregate decisions of millions of individuals have to be taken into account in the development of policy. It is fitting, therefore, that the science of behaviour change is attracting increasing policy interest, as is the related but separate consideration of well-being as a measure of societal success.
To consider these issues, CSaP has brought together researchers from a wide range of disciplines – such as psychology, economics, medicine, neuroscience, statistics and environmental studies – with business policy practitioners and policy makers from government departments – including the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Department for International Development and the Office for National Statistics.
