Sulekha Abdi is the Head of Hydrogen Systems at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. She is responsible for shaping the UK's hydrogen strategy, including maximising the system benefits of hydrogen. She has previously led key energy retail policies, including implementing the Energy Price Cap.
Previously, she held roles at the Department for Business & Trade and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, including leading UK clean growth, innovation and energy transition.
She has an MSc in Energy Economics from University College London and holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick.
