Gemma Cranston is the Acting Director of the Natural Resource Security Portfolio at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Gemma leads the Natural Capital Impact Group, which brings together influential companies with a global reach to determine how business can sustain the natural world through its strategies and operating practices. Her work involves collaborating with companies with a global reach to identify their impact and dependency on natural capital, enabling them to translate this in to a business context.

Gemma previously worked on a variety of projects for the Global Footprint Network as a Lead Scientist, and contributed to the organisation's Research and Standards Department through her research on Ecological Footprint methodology and applications. She holds a PhD on Ecological Footprints and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering, both from the University of Bath.
