Sophia Peacock is a PhD Candidate in Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Her research focuses on urban planning reform, public participation in the planning process, and local democracy, with further interests in sustainable urban planning and housing. She holds a part-time position as a Research Assistant on a collaborative project, "Organizing the sustainable city: planning, strategy, governance, management", funded by the Swedish Research Council. In 2017 she joined the Cabinet Office for a six month placement as a Policy Advisor in the innovation team, focusing on housing policy.

Sophia holds an MPhil in Planning, Growth and Regeneration, and a BA in Land Economy, both from the University of Cambridge. She spent two months working as an intern with Nomura in Hong Kong, working on projects with the property team. She has received numerous awards during her time in Cambridge, including an Honorary Vice-Chancellor's Award from the Cambridge Trust.
