Tim Leeder is a consultant at Aerotek Aviation Engineering and former Director of the Centre for Quantum Photonics at the University of Bristol. Before taking up his University of Bristol position he worked as Programme Manager for the Emerging Technologies and Industries programme at the Technology Strategy Board.

Prior to joining the TSB Tim worked as a non-exec Director and interim consultant to a variety of companies including software, technology, biotech, forensics and aviation engineering. He started his career at what was Swiss Bank Corporation (subsequently SBC Warburg and UBS Warburg).

He left the world of investment banking to found a start-up, and has been advising SMEs since 2000 during which time he has financed, run and sold a number of businesses.

Tim has degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Southampton University and, as a student, worked at Shell’s research Laboratory in Thornton. He combines work with a passion for outdoor pursuits and adventure travel.
