Tony is currently a Deputy Director, responsible for Product Safety Policy at the Department for Business and Trade. He is leading work on the product safety review, seeking to transform the regulatory landscape to support business innovation and consumer safety.

Prior to this role, Tony has undertaken a number of high-profile roles in the civil service, including head of contact tracing and self-isolation policy for the UK Health Security Agency at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and head of border industry engagement and readiness at the Cabinet Office, supporting government efforts to prepare for EU exit.

Over a twenty-year career, Tony has undertaken policy and delivery roles in a number of departments including the Ministry of Defence, Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, the Home Office, BEIS and DHSC.
