Research group director of Defence, Security and Infrastructure, RAND Europe

Alexandra Hall is research group director of Defence, Security and Infrastructure at RAND Europe. Her professional experience spans a diverse range of defence and security subjects including: military concepts and doctrine; the contemporary and future operating environment; international relations and geopolitical risk; insurgency, counter-insurgency and terrorism; the civil-military interface; and European defence and security. She also specialises in strategic exercises and scenario development to underpin capability planning and robust decision-making.

Prior to joining RAND Europe in June 2013 she worked for an independent UK defence consultancy, supporting the UK MoD, European Defence Agency and NATO on projects relating to geopolitics, capability planning and strategic-level analysis. Her academic background is in international relations and European studies.
