Alistair is the Dias College Assistant Professor in Law at Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he teaches public law and the law of contract. He was in full-time practice as a barrister for many years, specialising in planning and environmental law, and public law. He remains in practice, and is an Associate Member of Landmark Chambers in London. His research focuses on planning law, environmental law, and administrative law, and looks at intersections with the law of contract. He specialises in planning policy: his book Interpreting the NPPF: The New National Planning Policy Framework was published by Bath Publishing in 2018. He is Co-Editor of the journal Judicial Review, and an Assistant Editor of the Encyclopedia of Planning Law and Practice.
