Amy works in BEIS where she is leading thinking on the long-term options for decarbonising the provision of heating and cooling in the UK. She joined the civil service in 2013 as a specialist working on low carbon building policy and has developed expertise in the application of scientific evidence to support policy development.

Amy is a trained engineer and spent 5 years working on building physics analysis, designing energy systems in buildings and developing sustainability strategies. She has a BSc in Physics and Philosophy and an MSc Energy Conversion and Management, both from the University of Nottingham.
