Andrew Kaye is Head of International Resilience at the Government Office for Science, where his responsibilities include developing links to science advice mechanisms overseas and leading the secretariat for the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE). SAGE provides coordinated scientific advice to decision makers in the Cabinet Office Briefing Rooms (COBR). His previous work in the Government Office for Science has covered issues including emerging technologies, critical infrastructure and mental health. He has worked in the Civil Service since 2004, primarily as a speech writer for Cabinet ministers. Before joining the Civil Service, Andrew lectured in US history at the universities of Newcastle and Durham. He has a PhD in history from Cambridge University and is a frequent speaker at the Cambridge University Science and Policy Exchange (CUSPE).
