Policy Officer, European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology
Policy Fellow Alum, Centre for Science and Policy
Anne-Marie is a policy officer involved in the coordination of the policies and programmes in the area of Europe's Digital Agenda. The main questions driving the development of the policies are:
- How can we create jobs and growth in Europe using the opportunities provided by the digital economy?
- How can we remove the barriers European companies face when they want to grow their business and launch it in another European country?
- How can we improve the impact of the framework programme for research and innovation H2020?
- What would be a good balance between long-term research activities and more short-term innovation activities in order to create sustainable jobs and growth?
Before taking up her current role in policy coordination, Anne-Marie was a project officer managing research projects in the field of software and services and organising the Future Internet Assembly, and developing guidelines for public authorities to make better use of standards in public procurement in order to avoid becoming locked into certain ICT technologies.
Before joining the European Commission Anne-Marie worked as project manager for Atos in Spain and researcher for TNO in the Netherlands. She studied Computer Science at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands and received her PhD from the Technical University in Delft in the field of Human-Machine interaction.
