As deputy CEO of techUK (the trade association for the digital technology sector in the UK), Antony Walker led the organisation's transformation in 2013 from Intellect to techUK. His team works with a very broad range of policy makers right across government on a daily basis, thinking about how policy should adapt to the digital innovations being implemented today.

Prior to his appointment in July 2012 Antony was chief executive of the Broadband Stakeholder Group (BSG), which was set up by government to advise on the development and implementation of the UK's broadband strategy. Antony was closely involved with broadband policy development since the BSG was established in 2001 and is the author of several major reports to government.

Prior to setting up the BSG, Antony spent six years working in Brussels for the American Chamber of Commerce, following and writing about telecoms issues and as a consultant to the European Commission, where he worked on social affairs and environmental issues. Antony has a history degree from Aberdeen University and an MA from the Institute of European Studies at the University of Leuven, Belgium.
