Documentation Manager, Fitzwilliam Museum

David Scruton is Documentation Manager at the Fitzwilliam Museum. Following research in art history, he worked in a variety of museum/gallery curatorial roles and contemporary art programming. He has a particular interest in the impact of digital technology on the relationship between museums and their audiences.

Recently he has led two JISC-funded projects for the Fitzwilliam, focused on resource discovery in HE/FE. These addressed issues such as licensing, information structure and aggregation and the ways in which museums create access to collections data. Currently he is working on a collaborative digital R&D project to develop a cross-collection mobile application for cultural tourism.
