Deputy Director for Floods, Water and CBRN Emergencies

Georgina is the Defra Deputy Director for Floods, Water and CBRN Emergencies. She is responsible for coordinating national government decision making, advice and support during the recovery from the deliberate or accidental release of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) material into the environment. Her wider responsibilities include floods and water incident management and resilience, including working with the water industry to enhance security across critical assets and systems in line with the UK’s national security interests.

Georgina joined Defra’s Floods and Water Directorate in July 2016, and prior to that worked in a variety of roles in government.
