Senior Analyst at RAND Europe

Grant Johnson is an applied defence, political, and public finance economist using modern econometric methods to address policy-relevant questions that often have a dynamic, macroeconomic flavour. His current research focuses on international conflict, personnel, military acquisition and procurement, and grand strategy.

Johnson holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in economics from the University of California, San Diego and received B.A. degrees in mathematics and economics from Northwestern University. Prior to joining RAND Europe, he was an associate economist at the RAND Corporation.
