Jeremy Moore was appointed as the chair of BPDTS Ltd on 1 January 2019. BPDTS Ltd is a private limited company (whose sole member is the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions), set up in 2016 to provide digital technology services to the DWP, its sole customer. Its mission is to help ensure that DWP Digital can provide simpler, secure, faster and more efficient services that meet the needs of the people who use them.

Jeremy was a career civil servant until his retirement in 2016. He became the Strategy, Policy and Analysis Director General for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in January 2014, advising and supporting ministers and the Permanent Secretary on current and future policies including the labour market, welfare reform, pensions reform and social justice. He retired from this role in summer 2017.

Before taking up this post, Jeremy was Account Director for Disability and Director of the Office for Disability Issues at DWP. His earlier career in government included:

  • Head of Student Support at the Department for Education and non-executive director of the Student Loans Company
  • Head of the Environment, Transport and the Regions Spending team at HM Treasury
  • Director of Planning and Performance Management, DWP
  • Director of Labour Market Strategy, DWP.
He was made a Companion of the Bath in 2016. Since retiring from public service he has also joined the boards of the Learning and Work Institute and the Shaw Trust.
