The Behavioural Insights Team started life inside 10 Downing Street as the world’s first government institution dedicated to the application of behavioural sciences. It has recently become a social purpose company whose mission is to help organisations in the UK and overseas to apply behavioural insights in support of social purpose goals. The Behavioural Insights Team helps bring together ideas from a range of inter-related academic disciplines (behavioural economics, psychology, and social anthropology) to design policies or interventions that can encourage, support and enable people to make better choices for themselves and society.

Before joining the team Katy worked as a strategist for a leading advertising agency. Katy holds a First Class degree in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
