Ken Banks is the Founder of kiwanja.net, a non-profit group that specialises in helping entrepreneurs, social innovators and other non-profit organisations make the most of mobile technology in their work. He developed FrontlineSMS, a messaging management and automation tool that helps communities, groups and small businesses in developing countries effectively manage their communications, from schools contacting parents about student progress, through to businesses assessing and managing real-time data and engagement.

Ken has spent many years living and working in Africa, and has received numerous awards for his work. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Tech Awards Laureate, and a Faculty Member of Pop!Tech. In 2017 he became the Entrepreneur in Residence for the Department for International Development (DfID).
