CAPE Policy Fellow

Liam works in the Cities and Local Growth Unit, a partnership between the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. In his current role, he leads a team which gathers place-based intelligence and advocates for a policy response on emerging issues and opportunities related to local growth across all areas of the UK.

He has nearly a decade of experience working in a number of central Government departments on a range of policy issues. He recently moved from London to the Midlands and is passionate about learning about and from local partners in places ‘beyond Whitehall’. He is especially interested in research which considers sustainable interventions to support places in the UK which historically might not have been the focus of attention in Westminster or are seen as ‘left behind’.
