Marco Hafner is a Research Leader at RAND Europe, where his research focuses on employment, education and social policy. He has covered areas including the impact of the National Minimum Wage on employment, how to help people with mental health problems back in to employment, and the economic costs of poor wellbeing in the workforce.

Marco holds a PhD in Economics and Applied Econometrics from Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg, an MPhil in Economics from UCL, and a BA and MSc in Economics, both from the University of Zurich. He previously worked for the Institute for Employment Research in Germany, before joining RAND as a Senior Analyst in 2013. He has worked on policy projects for a variety of clients including the Department for Work and Pensions, the World Bank, and the European Parliament.
