Maria O’Beirne is a senior analyst in the Neighbourhoods and Community Cohesion analytical team in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (formerly DCLG) providing support for policy areas on integration, faith and equalities, as well as community rights and devolution of services to neighbourhoods. Maria has worked as a social researcher in government for over 13 years working at the Home Office, Health and Safety Executive and the Department for Work and Pensions and more recently in Department for Communities and Local Government.
Prior to joining the Civil Service, Maria worked in Royal Holloway University of London as a researcher within the ESRC Violence Research Programme. Maria’s early career was as a freelance researcher in Ireland working for government and third sector organisations.
