Dr Maximilian Bock is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Architectural Engineering in the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Natural Materials and Structures group, and the Research Coordinator of the EcoHouse Initiative.

The EcoHouse initiative is a multidisciplinary program that aims to facilitate sustainable growth in the context of poverty and climate change in the developing world. The Initiative links academics, industrial partners, non-governmental organizations and governments in the development of sustainable housing solutions and urban planning. They research, design and build with local organizations. The aim is to introduce affordable sustainable housing systems in communities for the urban poor, as well as raising awareness of the issues of sustainability and poverty in those regions.

Dr Bock achieved his MSci at King's College, London, and then went on to do his PhD in the Department of Physics at Cambridge.
