Dr Rob Richardson is a Research Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research in the Department of Land Economy. He is interested in spatial governance and the built environment, including planning and urban design policy and practice. His current research projects include the relationship between digital exclusion and the cost of living within the home, and how the theme of transformation is understood in relation to the key policy challenges addressed by the University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Rob previously completed a PhD at the University of Glasgow, funded by an ESRC collaborative studentship with West Dunbartonshire Council, which considered how well-designed places can be more consistently delivered through the planning system. He has an MRes in Urban Research and an MSc in City Planning & Real Estate Development from the University of Glasgow, and an MA in Geography from University of Cambridge, which he completed as a member of Robinson College. He has previously taught social and public policy at undergraduate level, and city planning at postgraduate level, at the University of Glasgow.
