AI Policy and Data Ethics Lead, Data and Identity Directorate, Home Office

Sanaya leads the Home Office’s work to employ powerful data driven technologies efficiently and responsibly, maintaining public trust. Her role involves working with industry and academia to find solutions to novel threats posed by AI technologies, and implementing policy and ethical frameworks to provide consistency across Departmental application.

Sanaya has been a Civil Servant since 2009, working across immigration, border security, strategy and technology. She was seconded as a national expert to the European Union working on information systems for borders and security before returning to the Home Office to work in the Data & Identity Directorate.
