Tim Durrant is an Associate Director at the Institute for Government. He leads the IfG’s programme researching the work of ministers and has written extensively on the different roles that ministers play. He also delivers training courses for ministers, and civil servants who work closely with ministers, to support them to work together more effectively and to use the government machine to achieve their priorities. In the last twelve months he has also led the IfG’s work on standards in public life, setting out recommendations for how ministers can rebuild trust in the government. Prior to joining the IfG Tim was a civil servant.
