The Centre for Science and Policy is delighted to welcome Professor Jatin Nathwani as a Visiting Research Fellow in July 2015. Jatin is a Professor at the Institute for Sustainable Energy at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is an expert on competitive energy policies to enable the innovations required for the transition of the global energy system to a lower carbon energy economy.

Jatin has initiated a major Global Change Initiative on the Challenge of Energy Access in developing countries. The Initiative focuses on the issue of providing affordable energy to approximately 2.5 billion people who have none. The goal is to bring into an effective working relationship researchers working on: energy supply systems, materials research for energy, micro-grid and informatics, and the social sciences (including economics, finance, and policy).

Whilst at Cambridge, Jatin will work with CSaP to identify and make connections with key individuals in academia and policy to help establish long-term effective and productive relationships with the Global Change Initiative.
