The Centre for Science and Policy was very sorry to learn about the death of a great friend and colleague, Dr Finbarr Livesey, who died from cancer on 2 September 2019.

Finbarr worked closely with CSaP in its early days, and was instrumental in the establishment and ongoing success of the Cambridge Masters in Public Policy.

After hearing the news of Finbarr's death, CSaP's Founding Director, Dr David Cleevely, said: “I was very sad to hear the news about Finbarr. He was a great supporter of CSaP as we were of his work with the Masters in Public Policy, and we will all miss his wit, enthusiasm and dedication. A great loss.”

Dr Rob Doubleday, CSaP’s Executive Director, said: “Finbarr worked tirelessly to help establish public policy research and teaching in Cambridge. His great character, immense energy, and dedication to public service will be greatly missed by all of us at CSaP and those in our network fortunate enough to have worked with him.”

Memorial Service: There will be a private family funeral followed by a memorial service of remembrance and celebration of Finbarr's life on Thursday 12 September at 2:30pm in the Hall at Magdalene College, Cambridge.
