A team led by CSaP Policy Fellow Nathan Boublil has come out on top in this year’s Silicon Valley Comes to the UK (SVC2UK) competition, with a national prize for their ProjectPolicy.org website, an online, intuitive tool to help the world make sense of policy. After creating a first version of the platform and winning StartUpWeekend Cambridge on 11 November, the team went on to win the UK finals of SVC2UK four days later at Google Campus in London.

Nathan commented: “Throughout my professional activities and policy fellowship discussions at Cambridge, I always felt that there lacked a simple, easy to use online tool which could gather both quantitative and qualitative information and link international, national and regional level data. The amount of economic, regulatory, policy information and data available is constantly on the rise but remains siloed, which makes it complex to make sense of. With a full team of Cambridge students, we founded ProjectPolicy.org in order to help both public and private organisations - as well as society at large - have easier access to policy information. We have already received tremendous support from CSaP fellows and now look forward to taking the project to the next stage”.

The team is now focused on continuing to build the product and is planning to release a beta version by January 2013.

Google will also be flying the team to Silicon Valley in January, as a reward for their efforts.
