Members of CSaP's network recognised for their services

Several members of CSaP’s network were recognised in the 2013 New Year Honours List for their outstanding achievements and services to society. CSaP’s Founding Director, Dr David Cleevely was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his contribution to technology and innovation; Angel Investor, Sherry Coutu, was awarded a CBE in recognition of her long-time support of UK start-ups and services to entrepreneurship; Professor Frank Kelly, a member of CSaP’s Executive Committee, and Professor of the Mathematics of Systems at Cambridge received a CBE for services to mathematical science; CSaP Associate Fellow, Dr Miles Parker, Defra’s former Deputy Chief Scientific Adviser, was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to government including 37 years in the Civil Service; CSaP Policy Fellow, John Tesh, lately Deputy Director, Civil Contingencies Secretariat, Cabinet Office, receives a CBE for services to UK Civil Resilience and the Development of the National Risk Assessment; and Professor Sandy Thomas, Head of Foresight, Government Office for Science, received an OBE for services to Government Science Policy.

CSaP Associate Fellowships 2013

CSaP has also recognised members of its network for their significant contributions to the Centre's objectives and development, awarding an Associate Fellowship to each of the following : Professor Carol Brayne (Director Institute of Public Health), Dr Claire Craig (Deputy Head Government Office for Science GO-Science), Sir Bob Kerslake (Head of Civil Service), Professor Theresa Marteau (Director of Behaviour and Health Research Unit), Professor Jaideep Prabhu (Director of the Centre for India and Global Business), Dr Emily Shuckburgh (BAS), Professor James Wilsdon (Professor of Science and Democracy, University of Sussex).
